Applecross a photographic tour
Applecross a photographic tour, why? Because it doesn’t matter which way you look, there is a picture waiting to be taken, a memory waiting to be made. Of all the beauty in the Highlands it’s all captured on this tour. We have made it a longer tour just so we can add in stops and get that perfect picture you came to the Highlands to capture. Applecross peninsular is in Wester Ross, north west of the Highlands, here you will find the most spectacular scenery. The most challenging road in the U.K. and not for the faint hearted driver. With our experience of over forty years driving we are very comfortable and happy driving these roads. In our comfortable and air conditioned vans you can just sit back and enjoy the scenery.
Leaving Inverness at eight, and heading out towards Ullapool, we already start to see some nice scenery. We have left the stops for this tour open with a few exceptions of views we just know you won’t want to miss. The gorge at Corrie Shallock for instance is a designated stop. We drive along the coastal route (on the last half of the north coast 500) driving towards Gairloch, you may look for the wild goats along the way, they love to bathe in the sunshine.
Driving along the coastal route taking in the tiny villages and the quiet way of life, taking a few pictures as we go. It is normal to find the highland cow as we wend our way across, over mountains and down into the glens. We stop for lunch and a small walk if you choose at Loch Maree. Lunch is provided in a picnic style, so you can wander off and find your own place to enjoy or just sit by the Loch and enjoy the peace of the scenery and the freshness and sweet smell of the air.
After lunch we take you to the best of views. Looking down on Loch Maree before we take you to the main attraction of the Bealach Na Ba. The summit and allow you time to wander around making sure you get the perfect picture. As we start to drop down towards Loch Carron you will want your cameras out all the time. We return home through Achnasheen and arrive back into Inverness between six and seven. This trip is mainly car bound so is suitable for the disabled as long as they can get into the van, (a step can be provided on request)
