Eilean Donan Castle

Eilean Donan Castle, is one of my favourite places to visit. The staff are always smiling and happy and of course it a favourite of my guests too, as my most popular tour as well of the Isle of Skye of course.

So to follow on from the last post, I have this wonderful machine called the IPAD Air2 and this past two weeks guests have been showing me how to use it for photo’s.  so I thought I would share with you my first two attempts at panorama shots.  But as usual I am using the Ipad instead of the PC and it doesnt let me post them to here lol.  So here are some I did take this week which are not panoramic but still good.

New Website

Well its been a while since my last blog, partly due to being busy and partly redesigning the new website.  it would be good to get feedback on it.  The website now has virtual tours although this is still a work in progress.  There is also a new tour added.  The Outlander book tour. This is now being televised and proving to be a popular addition.  The story of the books for those who have not read it.  Clair goes to get a flower for her collection, and falls through the split stone and lands in the highlands 200 years previously.  there she meets many challenges and falls in love with Jamie. although she didn’t realise she had until she was forced to marry him in order to save her life.  The books are very good historically, and the Author Diane Gabaldon has has correctly identified the nature of the Highlanders and their way of life.  A must read for anyone interested in history and culture.  Once you start to read these books you wont want to put them down.  The tour takes in the Split stone, Culloden battlefiled, Beauly priory as well as Lochness and Urquhart castle. Check out the tours and leave your feedback if you have time.

Rainbows are the best thing our weather allows for.  In the past seven days during 2 tours we have seen ten of them. some brighter than others but never the less very pretty.  here are just a few of the pictures we managed to take. Autumn is the best time for rainbows as we often have bright sunshine with a little misty rain. September is always a good time to visit the highlands.

Iona Highland Tours Customers June 2013

More wonderful pictures from our tours, these are a mix from all the places we have been..

This is just a sample of some of the things we have seen and been to in the past few days.  I do so enjoy showing off the Highlands, there is always something new to see or do.  Right now the Salmon are jumping, so why not go to Rogie or Shin falls and see if you can catch a photograph I have tried but not succeeded as yet, maybe you will have better fortune.  If you do I would love to see it!!
